In my explorations, I also like to time travel in my mind. What were these landscapes like a thousand years ago? Or even a hundred? As an artist, I sometimes enjoy sharing this viewpoint through my work. This scene is inspired by an iconic view in Arches National Park as one drives onto the main plateau past Courthouse Wash. In this version I’ve turned back the clock to a time before highways and RVs. Glowing rimrocks and distant peaks draw the eye forward through gateways of towering monoliths; quintessential desert southwest.
Arches at Courthouse Wash is painted in acrylic on 1-1/2” gallery profile canvas with hand-painted, neutral-toned edges for a contemporary look with or without a frame. The work arrives ready to hang.
