A warm glow sets the rugged coastline in sharp relief on a June afternoon at Cape Arago, Oregon. Cape Arago and the nearby Shore Acres State Park hold special meaning for me. I was born nearby and spent my early years playing among the beaches, dunes and forests of the central Oregon coast. From this viewpoint among the cliffs, the interplay of rocks and waves and deep forest make this of the most spectacular places in Oregon. This original oil painting captures the energy and mood with vivid colors and energetic brush strokes.
