This is one of my favorite views of Diamond Peak, looking south from Fuju Shelter. The dramatic spires and series of false summits rise into a misty cap against a clear, cold winter sky. I love the deep blues and purples of winter. Sometimes we tend to think of winter as a drab or colorless season, but I find it offers unique clarity and intensity. This painting aims to express those qualities.

Diamond Peak Winter is painted on a hand-made, primed and sanded wood panel that provides an exceptional smoothness with a fine wood grain that gives the image a slight texture.
