Mt. Adams rises over 12,000 feet amid the wild, southern Washington wilderness. A bit farther north, a couple days’ trek in the Goat Rocks Wilderness offers amazing views of this peak in the late afternoon. The thickly forested mountains at its feet look soft and smooth across the distance. This is the first in a the “Little Big Mountains” series.
