Morning light streams through the open ponderosa pine forest and rimrock to the headwaters of the North Fork Crooked River. Rocky pools and undercut banks hide native redband trout, which are adapted to the warmer waters of central eastern Oregon. The painting captures the movement of riffles and dappled light playing in the shallow waters with vibrant color.
